Rabbinical Seminary

The challenge today for the Jewish communities in Germany is the training of spiritual leaders of the next generation.

This is why the Yeshiva Gedola has focused from the beginning on training rabbis that could function as community leaders in the burgeoning communities in Germany.

The main idea of the Rabbinical Seminary is to endow the rabbis with practical rabbinical knowledge as well as acquainting them with Hassidic philosophy that emphasizes a warm and lively outreach to every person.

From its founding in 1999 and until today the Yeshiva has ordained over 20 rabbis with 8 more studying currently for their ordination.

The students studying for their rabbinical ordination are tested by Gedoley Israel - click here for Members of the Committee for Rabbinic Ordination.

The level of studies at the Rabbinical seminary is considered very high even in comparison to Rabbinical Seminary’s in Israel.

The learning day is filled with intensive studies of Jewish law and philosophy. Click here for the Curriculum of the Rabbinical Seminary.

Graduates of the Yeshiva serve as rabbis all over the world; in Germany in the communities of Hamburg and Dusseldorf.  Others serve as rabbis in places such as Basel, Cyprus, Vietnam and even as chief rabbi of Estonia.

We at the Yeshiva Gedola believe that the fact that rabbis all over the world have received their ordination right here in Germany, brings back the wonderful Jewish glory Germany was proud of eighty, ninety and a hundred years ago.
